"Dermalog" digitizes social-communicative functions of the skin in order to make the post-digital body of communication media discursive.
In order for non-verbal communication in digital media to remain representative of identity as well as physical and mental perception, skin phenomena are to be creatively translated and automated for these scenarios. Through the visibility and social communicative functions of skin, scenarios of communication without a physical body can be visualized through it. Skin as a communicative element in digital space creates a placeholder for one's thoughts and desires to deal with post-digital physicality and is meant to celebrate skin as an organ of communication but is also intended to critically question the use of digital media.
